    Taking the first step going to see a beauty consultant regarding getting locks….. if my hair is green enough to start the process, for some odd reason my hair is quite soft even though i have not had any black crack on it for a while.

    My daily care routine.
    When i B.C’d, I washed my hair with well, almost anything..lol. The thing is nappy headed’s have been warned to stay of products that contains sulfur laurate or something like that cos it dries out the hair. But my hair doesnt mind that. So i shampoo, use a conditioner, leave it for a while and detangle my hair. Though its…[Read more]

      WELCOME!!!
      well, this is a hair forum first of all;
      Black crack refers to hair relaxers or anything that is used to chemically and permanently straighten the hair.
      Green is a state when the hair is in its natural form. No relaxers just natural!
      I hope that cleared up any confusion?

      Sorry Adeyinka, tis why its been said Men and wWen exist on different planets. The languages we speak reflect same. Koyefunmi’s replied, and rightly so because she’s the proponent of this new tongue. Way to go girl. Her explanations seem simple enough but then you are a guy, so…smile

    If i ever go green, people will be running away from me on the streets. My hair puts a high tension wire to shame. Black crack helps maintain my semblance of sanity.

    Transitioning for me was funny! Reasons:
    1)My friends thought i was going nuts. (Their (permed) hair breaks faster than you can say Arnold Schwarzenegger 10 times! And apparently, mine didnt in the permed form.
    2)I had 4 mini ‘big chops’…cos my hair grows really fast, and i was in a phase where i didnt want my hair to be past my jaw…[Read more]

    I’m guessing ’black crack’ is hair relaxers, and ’green crack is going natural. Am I right? This is the first time I’m actually hearing those terms. If I’m right, then I’m so on black crack!

      Koyefunmi replied 1 year, 5 months ago

      yup! But going natural is just GREEN!
      tee hee!

      We credit Koyefunmi for the terms Uche, and we are glad to have you.
