Then you need to do book readings and have incentives like somebody might win a book. You may also combine the book reading with music or food.In my experience, people will always come if there is free food or if there is music. ;0)

From my long term research,i have found out that 95% of nigerians don’t read. They only read during exams, which after the whole thing would be thrown into the trash can.So am asking,as a writer how do you intend getting readers feel your efforts?

What can make a book to win a prize or award?
I think the book has to be as good or better than Chimamanda Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun. That would probably mean an almost perfect plot, characterisation, theme, delivery, presentation etc.
You got a [email protected] if the book has only plot to boast of,can it still go?

What draws your attention to read a book, title, author’s name, back cover, first page impression?
To me, I look out for the author’s name, I must admit…
I’m not really a book person. I love writing for the screen mostly. So you’ll probably catch me watching more movies than reading books. But, in respect to your question. For me it’s mostly reviews. If critics and those who have read the book say good things about the book, I’ll probably try and read it. That’s how I became Amanda’s huge fan. But with movies, it’s who’s involved, what the story’s about, genre, the storyline, how it’s doing at the box office, is it winning any awards and most importantly, the trailer. Hope others give you their thoughts too.
